About

Hi I'm Kay, the Director of KW Consultants.

I started my journey working hands on with children back in 2007. Since then I have enjoyed a colourful career working in Nurseries, Special Schools, private practice and Residential care.

However, my vision for my consultancy didn't begin until I qualified as a Psychotherapist in 2016. With the knowledge and understanding of therapeutic insight it became my mission to support people individually and those working with children to have a foundation of skills which help the children to thrive.

​

Children and young people in the care system are some of the most vulnerable in society, and it is imperative that the care they receive is not only quality but does not re-traumatise them. 

​

I began working with Children's Homes in 2019, where I found my love for training and working with staff teams to improve young people's outcomes.

​

While my niche is certainly the therapeutic environments in which children will thrive, I have an eye for detail and can support your organization in a variety of ways. Or i can support you individually to reach your therapy goals.

​

Alongside the consultancy I write for online magazines, create and develop resources for children who need therapeutic support, and i am now developing therapeutic resources for children going through specific trauma such as divorce or grief.

​

Of course it started as just me, however there is more wonderful work out there than just I can't do, and so I have developed a team of specialists in their own field who I supervise closely and ensure they also continue their own paths of professional development.

​

I am a current member of the BACP and have regular supervision of my own, to ensure any therapeutic work I do with your organisation is held to a professional code of ethics. 

​

All Consultants are members of The National Association for Therapeutic Parents and complete regular CPD as well as supervision with myself.
